Social Language Groups

Does your child need help with social skills? Our interactive groups target skills such as using greetings, requesting, staying on topic, taking turns, understanding humor, problem solving, as well as understanding gestures and body language.

Enroll now in our Winter and Spring programs that will enable your child to work on their social language skills in a fun group format with same aged peers. Classes meet one hour weekly for an eight-week session.  Your child’s current IEP goals can be targeted for the summer session and home activities are provided on a weekly basis.  Our Winter and Spring social language groups target social interaction skills in unique theme-based formats.

This group will focus on early developing skills such as greetings, sharing, turn taking, requesting and staying in play with peers, as well as pretend play with a fun winter theme. Playing with friends during activities such as hide and seek, snow ball making, ice fishing, and play dough snow creature making are just some of the fun events in this group. No snowsuit required!

Winter Wonderland
6 to 8 years old

Our “wonderland” group will focus on conversation skills such as: greetings, staying on topic, learning about friends by asking questions, commenting, taking turns, and sharing with a whimsical winter theme. Children will have a take home “research” project for their favorite winter creature. They will then have a chance to share their project with the group during the last session.

Winter Sports

Learn great game skills in our pre-teen group. Skills that target good sportsmanship will be the focus. Persuasion, negotiation and team play are just a few of the skills targeted in a fun game format group. Children will bring in a favorite game to share with the group from home on a weekly basis.

Humor Me

Understanding the humor that is essential to school and life success is the target of our teen group. Role-playing, problem solving, charades, cartoon humor, and video modeling are just some of the activities of this laugh out loud group! Teens will bring in their favorite comic strips on a weekly basis.
